Let's talk about this thing called Motorcycle Travel America.........

It is definitely a labor of love that made me venture into the world of computers and website development.  I am your proverbial computer illiterate!  Now, I'm not trying to be unkind to myself or others like me but, we are what we are!  But, all that aside, the only thing I knew was that myself, my motorcycle riding friends and family members, and perhaps others, needed a place to find EVERYTHING. Allow me to explain;

I had spent many a day looking for accessories, events, information of sorts, and had to visit website after website to find everything I needed.  After one particularly frustrating experience I blurted out loud, "Why cant somebody put all this stuff on one website!!".  Then I stomped off to bed to rest my throbbing  head.   Sometime later that night and in a bit of a fog from sleep, I woke up with an epiphany........why couldn't I put all these things on one website?  I got out of bed, grabbed a pad of paper, and in thirty minutes I had created a mock up of an entire website.  Yup, an entire website complete with pages, pictures, titles, and content. Being very satisfied with the results, I got back into bed and had a wonderful nights sleep thinking all was well with the world because of my brainstorm.  The next morning I awoke with a giggle, thinking that I had had a very strange dream until I ventured into the kitchen to make the morning coffee and found the pad of paper laying right where I left it, filled with all the information.  Imagine my surprise!  And so the story begins.

That dream occurred back in the beginning of 2006.  In the three years that have passed since that day,  I have logged more hours on the computer than I had spent in my entire lifetime. I have involved every member of my family and circle of friends that would agree to help me and, there were many. I have run idea after idea past them all until their eyes began to develop that glazed over look.  But, I have also watched my family turn this into a "family business" through their commitment to this task. My daughter has become my partner and operations manager (which lovingly means my "grunt"), my granddaughter has tagged herself to become the official photographer for all events, my grandson expects to be present as our events representative,  my best friends have agreed to work events handing out information, and my husband is the official "diffuser" when I get rattled by it all.

Now, I realize some people set up websites and then choose to be satisfied with that.  This website,however, will be constantly evolving and changing, hopefully, from your input. The world of motorcycles is always changing with new technologies, new events, and new people getting involved.  As long as there is new information out there, we will be gathering it and presenting it to you.  I want everyone to feel as if this website is their own, because it is!  And, I want you to feel free to let us know what you need and what you want.  My commitment to the constant development of this website and all its members is that I will never be satisfied that I have all the information available because something new is always in the works.

So, in closing, this ride isn't over yet.  Not by a long shot.  Let's make this a comfortable and useful place to hang out.  Bring your family and friends along because there is something on this website for everyone, even the family pet!

Welcome to the Motorcycle Travel America family.  Ride safe, help someone today, and God bless you all.
